Vav's Work TechniquesVav provides a non-invasive whole body manipulation therapy for animals. She starts by analysing the spine, pelvis and other relevant joints for misalignments. Her aim is to allow the nervous system to function freely by re-aligning the skeleton and allowing the muscles to relax, therefore opening nerve channels. With McTimoney Chiropractic, she uses only her hands in a gentle-but-fast-technique to give effective adjustments that do not stress the animal any further. She also provides a deeply penetrating massage to relax and revive the surrounding tissue, again using only her hands. This accelerates the healing process by stimulating the blood supply, which increases the oxygen availavble and speed repair of injured tissues. It also allows a release of the body's normal toxins which can slow recovery by causing stiffness if left to build up.
Chiropractic Service for Southern CountiesTravelling around the Southern Counties, Vav often visits only two or three times to sort most problems out. "Healing is a process, not an event", Vav is fond of saying. Completing the treatment programme ensures that the chiropractic adjustments hold properly. Then she recommends a six-monthly check-up to keep animals fit and healthy as possible.
Genuine advice on treatmentAlthough, she has performed some miracles, there are times when she is not the right person at the right time. If it is not a chiropractic problem, she will immediately say so and offer what advice her years of experience suggest. However, there are times when a a horse is verging on Loss of Use after an injury, surgery or illness. Vets may have tried all the treatments in their repertoire but end up advising turn-away for several months. At this point, when further veterinary treatment is not acceptable or viable. Vav offers an alternative.
Intensive Treatment ProgrammeThis is a short period where Vav will accomodate your horse and bring several complementary therapies to work together. She is confident that she can use treatment methods that most vets will not have tried. Her aim is to restore as much health and/or performance as possible, within a reasonable timescale.
